Started a job last Monday. Kind of a big deal, and yet, kind of not. Sometimes it's sad to realize that being an adult is a bit more bills & health insurance & calendars than I planned. I miss the days of being a child. Things had different meanings back then. A thunderstorm meant bike rides through the puddles instead of traffic and a longer commute home. Christmas approaching meant snuggling under quilts and classic stories at bedtime, now it sometimes just means larger credit card bills and stressful calendar juggling. In many ways, I think the root of the problem is a mindset issue. While we can't turn back the clock or get rid of responsibilities, we can change our mindset to be more childlike: full of faith, celebrating in the small things, silly for no reason, glad to be in the moment. Maybe Mondays wouldn't seem so stinkin' dreadful if I thought like that!
