"into marvelous light i'm running...
by the cross you are the way, the truth, the life.

lift my hands and spin around, see the light that i have found
oh the marvelous light, the marvelous light!"

24 day challenge

So I've been doing this 10 day "cleanse." You may find the details entertaining...

I've never been good at dieting. I'm one of those people that would much rather do a hard work out than pass up on the warm chocolate chip cookie...or the queso...or the margarita. I'm also addicted to diet coke. Like, i put the all caps in ADDICT. (can i get an amen?)

so, i finally started advocare's 24 day challenge. and i really, really, really feel good. i like it. i've tried to jot down some notes everyday:
-it's day 4, and i cheated once, but...ONCE. that's it! that's basically no cheating AT ALL in my world. nothing processed, no sugar, tons of fruit & veggies...
-day 6. went to mexican food restaurant, arrived starving. had 4 chips, wheat tortilla and fish tacos, no cheese. no queso. my tummy feels great.
-day 12. second day on the second part of the challenge. full of energy, but also excited to eat more. i was ready to be done with that cleanse. results on the scale are awesome, i'm down 8 lbs. glass of wine delish.

you start with a 10 day cleanse, and i've been pleasantly surprised how much energy i have, how full i feel (mostly) and how much i have NOT been running to the restroom. i've been drinking at least 100 ounces of water each day, and the challenges comes with a great mini-journal that makes it easy to track what you're supposed to be doing. you pretty much eat all veggies, lean meats, and a few complex carbs for 10 days. then the next 14 days are similar but add more back to your diet.

between spark (their natural energy drink) and the detailed plan, your energy stays up and you stay busy figuring out which supplements to take and how many fruits you've had today and yada yada yada. it's gone by fast. i kinda feel like a new person, and 100x more aware of what i'm putting in my body.

what finally motivated me to start? my future sis-in-law amy is doing it with me, which is SO helpful. AND the fact that those who stick to the plan & give it their best, on average, lose 10 pounds and 10 inches. That's something I can live with, let me tell you.

i don't want to blog too much about it, because people may not care to read it...but if you're interested in learning more or ordering the challenge toolkit, hit me up. i got discounts, y'all.
