"into marvelous light i'm running...
by the cross you are the way, the truth, the life.

lift my hands and spin around, see the light that i have found
oh the marvelous light, the marvelous light!"

National Day of Prayer

Thursday is the National Day of Prayer, with most state, local, and federal governments organizing some sort of prayer. Its a nice break from the anti-religion, anti-evangelical way things have been running for the last few decades. I wish our country functioned like this more regularly - tomorrow is not about Christianity or spreading the gospel. It is about acknowledging that most people believe in a higher power, and most people pray to that higher power, and that is something to be encouraged and celebrated.

It is designed to be a day of tolerance and togetherness, Jewish and Christian and Hindu and agnostic and whoever else praying together for the security, saftey, and well being of America.

I need to be better about diligently praying for government & military officials. Believe it or not, I do pray for Obama pretty frequently.

Happy Prayer Day!

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."
Romans 8:26
