i watched the bachelor religiously this summer, it was our one hour reprieve from all things Teach for America institute. but this new season that just began? i'm not sure if i want to spend an hour of my free time each week walking the ridiculousness, and i didn't watch the first week, but tonight i had it on TV in the background while sending emails and working on some data for school.
i used to spend monday nights watching the bachelor with kappa sisters, yelling at the TV, laughing at kimbo as she made fun of the hilarious antics, laughing at paige and noel as they teared up over the true love, pretty much just laughing. sure, its unrealistice, but still fun to watch the crazy dates with live bands, helicopter rides, trips to hawaii...and everyone and their mom making out...oh, ABC, how are we supposed to believe this is real life? why do i waste my time?
and then, tonight i heard this quote:
"as the plane took off i just felt as if it were our relationship taking off at the same time...on the wings of love..." excuse me can we rewind and hear that again? did that seriously come out of someone's mouth? who says crap like that?
all i have to say is thank you, ABC, for the entertainment. after a long day back to the school week, and a throw up incident...the bachelor is just what i needed on this monday night.
